Happy First Birthday!

This journal is a year old today! It's rather humbling to think of how much has happened since my first post one year ago. It's been a rough road at times, but I'm certainly a happier person now than I was then, for many reasons. Thank you for accompanying me along the way.

Two more announcements... New community for Mutant X fan artists: [info]mutantx_fanart. This should be fun!

Also, a grand welcome aboard to [info]jeepy91, [info]vicellious, and [info]l_vera01. :)

Thanks, Fiona! Hard to believe it's been a whole year. I think you and Anita were actually my first friends here. Aw. *hugs*

Heee happy birthday:D

Wow, if you're here a year, I must be here for like... 1,5 years? Sure with different names but hey, this journal lasts longer than my patience LOL

Thanks! *hugs* It doesn't feel like it's been a year, does it? It's fun to go back and read those old posts, because about half the comments are gone with your old journal...and you have to guess what you said from how I respond to you. There's one really bizarre one, where I posted some evil plot to kidnap Mohan to save Mutant X, and half of our conversation after that has disappeared. Hee.

Did we ever discuss the idea of kidnapping Mohan and brainwashing him in writing better stories?

Good question. Let's see...I had to go back and get the post:

http://www.livejournal.com/users/firstmutant/3175.html

Looks like the plan didn't involve brainwashing, but more of a kidnapping/re-training of sorts. Then your plan was to knock the writers out and replace them altogether. Which makes sense.

Brainwashing him into selling the show to better writers. Anyone formerly from Mutant Enemy who isn't Marti Noxon

Ya know, that's not such a bad idea, since several of the show's plotlines were already derivative. Also, look at how long Buffy and Angel were able to keep running. Of course, then you'd have Jossian scenarios where main characters are killed off at a whim, so the death of Emma would probably still have been in the works at the end of S2...and who knows who would have gone in S4.

Yes, but it would've made sense and Lexa would've been properly introduced. Also, Emma's death wouldn't have been dropped like a dead donkey after "Into the Moonless Night." It would've *meant* something. (This is a good time to shake up characters, and frankly they'd have done a better job of it.)

Keep in mind Joss claims Doyle was always doomed (though there are rumors about Glenn Quinn causing problems that his recent overdose certainly supports) then they didn't kill any main characters off 'til season 4.

Buffy killed main characters in season 2 and 6. (I don't count season 5 since they didn't stay dead.)

So many of the S2 and S3 problems could've been solved by consistent writing.

That's certainly true. And though I'm obviously still bitter about Tara and Doyle, and the so-called finale of Angel, I will always have to admit that Joss is the master when it comes to writing.

With Lexa, there's no question. Even the writers of Charmed did a better job of introducing their new character than Mohan did; under his lead, Lexa never had a chance.

I was annoyed about Tara. Can't decide about Doyle.

I spent an hour cursing Joss's name after "Not Fade Away." There's talk of *something* explaining what happened in that alley, but we'll see.

What kind of something?

Tara and Doyle were two of my favorite characters. Would it be too much to allow one romance to survive? Gah.

TV movie or comic book or maybe direct to DVD movie. It's kinda up on the air right now.

As for one romance ot survive. Yes, it would be too much. Joss is like that. We'll see how he does now that he has small children, but still. :)

Oh, I would love to see an Angel movie. Unless the movie ends as inconclusively as the series did, in which case I might have to hunt Joss down.

This one sticks out in my mind. [info]thesharing is the front organization for the Yeerks in the Animorphs books. Become a "full member" means getting a Yeerk stuck in your head in a Star Trek II like fashion and losing your free will.
